Photo-Op

I am not sure why, but recently, in the last few years I have Really REALLY gotten into taking pictures. And in the last few months have really gotten into editing my shots. I was looking the other day, and realised that my "portfolio" is 100 pics strong now!! I cannot believe it!! My sil was teasing me the other day, about doing it on a more "professional" basis...I don't know that I ever will or would...But it might be kind of fun to be able to offer that service to family members at the very least!!

I have been camera shopping for the past few years, and I *think* that I finally found one I am just in LOVE with!!
This one..Canon EOS Rebel T2i - digital cameraThe Cannon EOS rebel T2i. It's beautiful!! But it's also pretty pricey!! But someday, someday it will be mine!!

Even Sam, the Wonderful Husband that he is, offered to find me a trial version of Adobe Photoshop to try out, and even promised me we could look into getting it when we get a new computer...Now that folks is true Love!! Geesh, he is stinking Awesome!! I love that he is encouraging me with this hobby, but not pushing me to make it a lucrative one...But I know that if I should ever choose to do so, he would be nothing BUT supportive!!

But the very best part, is that I have 2 awesome friends that have agreed to let me do shoots for them, their families/kids!! Yay!! And my 1 friend is even lettin me borrow her Awesome camera since all I currently have is  "point-shoot"...SO THANKS V!! Love Ya!! Hope you still love me when I am done, and I hope the pictures turn out o.k. too!!

CSA!!

So, my local mommies group is joining a local CSA. We are going through Tanaka Farms, and I couldn't be more excited!! I wish that we weren't moving away so soon, but I guess I will just have to make 2 trips a month in now is all!! It's actually one of the most reasonabley priced ones that I have been able to find...only $20/ small box and $30/ large box! Heck Yea!! I am really excited to be able to expose, and try some new fruits and veggies...things that I might not buy usually. For fear of "not liking it"!!  So, here it goes!!

Blog-Stalking

O.k., so this is about more than just the "normal" blog-stalking..it's about "etsy-stalking"too! So, I love to look at all the different shops that etsy offers, I follow a few friends who have their own, and am always inspired by what I see and find. So, is it bad..wrong of me to take that inspiration and do it my self? I am NOT talking about totally jacking what someone has posted for sale and try and sell my own..I mean like I see something for sale that I love, and think I could make myself, for myself..or o.k. let's be honest here for my chickens...is that stealing? I have no intention of reproducing anything exactly, I would only lke to take the "idea" and run with it!

For example, I saw these AMAZING applicade towels for sale, they were like $23.00, now maybe with 1 stretching for 2..it *might* be doable...for me at least..but I have 5..that's alot for towels! So, I got to thinking...what if I got some oober nice, soft towels and did it myself for my chickens?? I know that at the very least my little ones would love it, I think that depending on what I picked fabric wise my older ones would be ok with it, and best of all...there is not "towel-confusion" while at the pool, friends house or where ever!

So, back to my original question...is it wrong? I don't think it's really going to stop me either way..I was just more curious as to see what the "masses" thought! I honestly feel that as long as I am not trying to sell them for a profit, and if/when I were asked I gave the appropriate credit..I don't see the problem. Isn't the purest form of flattery to be copied?

School Shopping

Well today was the day...the day we went school clothes shopping. We (well, me, the kids, and my Mom) went out to Ontario Mills today. We hit all the "big" stores, like Children's Place, Stride Rite, Disney, and Sketchers. Well, sketchers was a new one but it was "fun" just the same. It's always hard to take the kids, coop them up, run them ragged and then wonder why they don't behave. I have to admit, that they did better than I thought they would do. Meghan had a hard time with all the walking, she got a bit antsy. But she made it the whole way. The boys did really well, Caleb was great. He did wander a bit but other than that, he did well. Stephen was wonderful, he was such a great help. He was really excited to get some new clothes for school, but he is at that awkward age, where he wants new clothes but at the same time he isn't sure that he wants the same stuff that he "little brother" would like. He is growing up too fast! He did get a star wars shirt, it is pretty awesome. It's YODA, we finally found one at the Lego store. The hardest thing was trying to find them all shoes. We ended up at Sketchers, and got them there. The boys actually got the same shoes, Caleb has brown and Stephen has blue. Meghan and Kaylie got matching shoes too!

Speaking of Meghan and Kaylie, while we were in JCPenny, looking for uniform stuff for Kay, Meghan decided that she liked/wanted the same jumper that we got for Kay. She is weird. What can I say, I guess she does that a lot. She always picks out a skirt or dress, and Kay...well she likes her jeans and t-shirts. Where Meghan got her "girlieness" is way beyond me...Kay is more on my level than May. I guess she (May) is channeling her inner Auntie Jenny!!

Well, we are well on our way to being ready for school. Which is a good thing, especially since we start on Tuesday. Happy Birthday Meghan!! What a way to spend your birthday huh? Your 1st day of school. Well, I know that I am excited, and I think that the kids are as well. So here's hoping for a Great School Year... at a great new school!
